What's Here

Super Joy Video Arcade Game System

So you bought the Super Joy Game, now what?.

You will need 4 BRAND NEW AA batteries.  Don't use old ones.  Turn the controller upside down and press the latch below the battery pack and remove it.  Pop the cover off the battery pack where it says "Open Here".  Insert 4 BRAND NEW AA batteries in the direction it shows in the battery pack (double check it) and carefully snap the cover back on the battery pack.  Insert the battery pack in the controller and snap it in.  It will only fit in one direction.  The hardest part is done.

Next, hook the video and audio plugs up to your TV.  The yellow should hook to the video in jack and the white to the white audio in jack.  If you do not have video and audio inputs on your TV, you VCR will have them.  You will just need to switch the TV so that the VCR is showing on the TV and then switch the VCR so that it is showing what is coming in the input (see the VCR manual).  Then plug the other end of the cable into the Super Joy controller.  Almost there!

Push the power switch on the Super Joy controller to ON.  You should now see the startup screen and in a couple seconds a list of games.

Troubleshooting?

Did you use Brand New batteries?  Even if you did, try another set of batteries.  Dead batteries is the most common problem.

Make sure the power switch on the Super Joy controller is truned to the ON position.

Make sure that the video/audio input on the TV or VCR is actually showing on the TV screen.  This is another really common problem.  If you have another device that you can use to test the input, try that.  Otherwise, take the Super Joy to another TV and try it.
